Well I know that I have seen zx2s with factory turbos so i would imagine that you could pick one up somewhere. As for aftermarket, check out http://www.andysautosport.com they have all kinds of stuff inculding turbos.

Where did you find a zx2 with a factory turbo? MY uncle is a tech at fords call center and he couldn't find it. They did make a turbo escort but not a Z. However if you find a site that proves me wrong i would be interested to see it... It would be a rare time where being wrong could be good yes? haha

    Bigstrappa / Standardshift

This is getting a little confusing.

When you say "factory turbo" do you mean a turbo being on a ZX2 when It rolled off the Assembly line?

Or do you mean a turbo that was on a car that was not the ZX2, but could be easily adapted / or just a bolt on to the ZX2?

    Thanks for clearing this up

Re: Are there any turbo's made just for the zx2?

I didn't say factory, the other guy did... not many people use this site anymore, sorry if i have been late on the responces, but there is a factory one of the different car that bolts up perfect, well the two ends are like just flat plates, that over lag which all you need to do is turn the boost up about 1.5 psi. to make up the difference because it goes from a 3" pipe to a 2.75 pipes, there are no leaks, but the change in the size.

if you find a half way cheap turbo tho, plz give me a e-mail at bigstrappa@hotmail.com with the subject TURBO. i am looking for a new one. the one i have works good, but i moved a few things so i can put a bigger one in!

As far as I know all production ZX2s were N/A, and that's why I was asking for the clarification - in case  I'd missed something.

Roush was developing a super charged version that got stopped by Ford. Would have been sweet.

Turbo insignia was probably just off of some other car.

From what I've read, you should be safe somewhere in the 6 to 8 psi range on stock internals.

Re: Are there any turbo's made just for the zx2?

Well I am one of those people that have a turbo ZX2. From my research there is only one company that makes what they call a Bolt-on tubo for our cars, that’s Gude. But no one likes them from what I gather. Most of the turbo systems are all custom installs. Mine is definitely one of a kind. Any turbo you can shoe horn into the engine compartment will work if you have all the other parts of the puzzle worked out. Mine took some time because I took my time, and I’m not done yet. It is my daily driver though (still working out the bugs). I have read a lot about how other builds have gone bad, rod through block bad. So in my opinion you should have a good understanding on how all the systems work together, from the air/fuel, cooling, computer, and oil to name a few.

Don’t get me wrong I’m not trying to discourage anyone from trying. I’m just trying to let them know what they are in for. I have had a blast building mine. Hell building it was half the fun. Be prepared to do a lot of staring at parts scratching your head thinking “What the F**K do I do now”.

I would try and help anyone that would like the help.

Re: Are there any turbo's made just for the zx2?

Well it is the 1993 mazda gs it was about the closest you can get, but i actually don't have the ford motor anyone i have a 1.8 v6 the motor i have now had a turbo option. pretty much everything under my hood is from a 1993 gs 1.8 v6 now instead of the 1.2 4 cyl. i bought that car for a little under 3,000 in Canada, but the body was 100% gone haha you could open the door without a key if you know what i mean, well check it out it is pretty easy to just change it all for me then parts here or there.

I have a turbo from a Roush / Turbonetics kit made for the Focus.  They don't make the kit anymore from what I know.  The est part is the turbo and manifold fit right up to the ZX2 motor.  I'm currently working on this project, so when I get the turbo installed, I'll take some pictures.

Re: Are there any turbo's made just for the zx2?

ok the zx3 turbo fits the zx2. you just need all of it to make it work, so go to a junk yard and ask them if you can buy all the turbo parts the turbo with the piping and bov and what not. It fits almost like it was made for it. Check it out they have the same motor.
