i have a 2001 zx2. i want to replace the factory muffler with a new, better sounding one. i don't want it to sound like a fart can either. any suggestions on a good sounding muffler? also what are the id and od dimensions on the factory muffler?

If you are going to stick with the stock piping, then borla is probably your best choice. It came stock on the S/R and sounds good. The stock piping is - I believe 1 7/8" inner diameter. You can get it necked up to 2" if need be.

It's a bit restrictive for a motor that can go to around 6.5 - 7 grand stock.

If you aren't staying with the stock size piping, 2 1/4 is about the best size for a N/A DD car as it will support between 225 to 300HP. It will also make the car louder.
